Which network has the cheapest prices?

About the prices on PretCarburant.ro

How the platform works

PretCarburant.ro collects fuel prices every two hours from 15 different sources. Some data comes directly from major networks (Petrom, OMV, Rompetrol, MOL, Lukoil, Socar, Gazprom), some from the official Competition Council API, and the rest from independent stations and user reports. At the end of each cycle we have a single snapshot with over 1,500 active gas stations, spread across all 41 Romanian counties plus Bucharest. That entire dataset goes into a memory cache that powers the page you are reading right now — no manual refreshes, no stale data.

Where the data comes from

Official Fuel Price Monitor (ANPC)
Operated by Romania's Competition Council; we pull data via their official API for 343 administrative units, with a full check each day.
Official network websites
Petrom, OMV, Rompetrol, MOL, Lukoil, Socar, Gazprom — we process the corporate prices published publicly on their websites.
Direct integrations (SOCAR, OSCAR)
Direct connection with SOCAR providing authoritative per-station prices. For OSCAR we currently track station locations — prices coming soon.

Free features you can use

Interactive map with over 1,500 stations and fuel type filters.
Route comparator with popular routes (Bucharest–Constanta, Bucharest–Brasov, Cluj–Oradea and more).
Email alerts when the price drops below a threshold you choose, per city or nationwide.
Statistics showing price trends over weeks and months, including EU average comparisons.
Fuel calculator for consumption estimates and quick budget planning.
Android mobile app on Google Play and installable PWA directly from your browser.

Why you can trust our data

No collected price reaches the page directly. Every data point first passes through outlier filters with manually calibrated thresholds, followed by cross-source validation and progressive geo-matching with increasing radii from 200 to 800 metres between the reported address and GPS coordinates — to catch stations where the official address does not exactly match the physical location.

Petrol
5.50 – 12.00
RON/L accepted range
Diesel
5.50 – 13.00
RON/L accepted range
LPG
2.50 – 6.00
RON/L accepted range

That said, the price at the pump is always the final truth. Verify before you fill up. If you spot a discrepancy, write to contact@pretcarburant.ro; we correct any reported error within a maximum of 2 working hours and re-run the aggregation cycle for that station.

Who runs this platform

Behind this project is a single person: Stoian Andrei-Serban, Romanian developer, founder and sole administrator. I personally respond to reports, personally oversee the data pipeline and have no commercial agreements with any fuel network. That independence is part of why this site exists — I wanted an honest tool for drivers, not a paid catalogue. More details about me and the methodology can be found on the About page.
