Terms and Conditions of Use

By accessing and using the PretCarburant.ro platform, the Pret Carburant mobile app for iOS / iPadOS, or the mobile app for Android (collectively referred to as the "Platform"), you fully accept the terms and conditions presented below. Please read this document carefully before using our services.
1. About the Platform
PretCarburant.ro is an independent information and price comparison platform for fuels (petrol, diesel, LPG, AdBlue) and electric charging stations in Romania, available on the web and through native iOS / iPadOS and Android apps. The Platform does not sell fuels and does not operate filling stations.
The Platform is managed by Andrei-Serban Stoian, a natural person, domiciled in Romania.
2. Informational Nature of Data
The prices displayed on the Platform are exclusively informational and indicative. They are automatically collected from public sources (including the Price Monitor of the Competition Council, official websites of fuel station networks, and other publicly accessible sources) and, optionally, supplemented by community contributions from users (price reports), validated through manual moderation and automated filters.
Actual prices may differ due to:
- Delays in data updates by public sources
- Price changes that occurred after the last update
- Local or temporary promotions applied by each station
- Technical or data transmission errors
- Inaccuracies in user reports (even after moderation)
- Differences between the reported price and the actual price displayed at the pump
We recommend that you always verify the price displayed at the pump before refuelling. The Platform does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the displayed prices.
3. Registered Trademarks and Intellectual Property
The trade names, logos, emblems, and trademarks of fuel station networks displayed on the Platform β including, but not limited to Petrom, OMV, Rompetrol, MOL, Lukoil, SOCAR, Gazprom, Oscar/RO, Carbogaz and any other trademarks β are the exclusive property of their respective owners and are registered trademarks protected by national and international law.
The use of these trademarks and logos on the Platform is exclusively for informational purposes, to identify fuel station networks and facilitate price comparison for users. The Platform has no affiliation, official partnership, or commercial relationship with these companies, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
The original content of the Platform (design, texts, source code, database structure) is protected by copyright and belongs to the Platform administrator.
4. Limitation of Liability
The Platform, its administrator, and its collaborators do not assume and shall not be liable for:
- Financial losses, direct or indirect, resulting from the use of or reliance on prices displayed
- Refuelling, navigation, or any other decisions made exclusively based on Platform data
- Differences between prices displayed on the Platform and actual prices charged at the pump
- Errors, omissions, delays, or inaccuracies in displayed data, including community reports
- Temporary or permanent unavailability of the Platform or any functionality
- Errors in turn-by-turn navigation routes or in time / fuel-consumption estimates
- Damage caused by viruses, cyber attacks, or other security threats
- Content of third-party websites to which the Platform may contain links
- Actions of third parties (fuel station networks, data providers, other users) that affect data accuracy
Use of the Platform is at the user's own risk. The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
5. Data Sources
The data displayed on the Platform is collected from the following sources:
- Price Monitor β the Competition Council's platform in Romania (monitorulpreturilor.info)
- Official websites of fuel station networks (where data is publicly available)
- Other public sources of fuel price data
- Community contributions β price reports submitted by authenticated users, validated through manual moderation and automated filters
Data is updated automatically, several times a day, but the frequency and accuracy depend on source availability.
6. User Accounts
Using the mobile app without an account allows access to the map, price list, GPS navigation, statistics, and price alert configuration. Access to community contribution features (price reporting, new station proposals) and cross-device data sync requires creating an account through one of the following methods:
- Sign in with Apple (iOS / iPadOS) β fully supports Hide My Email per Apple policies
- Google Sign-In (iOS and Android)
We do not use email + password accounts created directly in the app. Authentication security is the responsibility of Apple or Google. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) at the Apple ID / Google account level.
Account deletion: in compliance with Apple App Store requirements (Guideline 5.1.1.v) and article 17 GDPR, we offer a direct in-app mechanism: Settings › Profile › "Delete account". Deletion triggers FK cascade deletes in the database β see Privacy Policy, section 8.
7. Community Contributions (Price Reports and Station Proposals)
Authenticated users can submit community contributions. By submitting a contribution, you agree to the following:
- The submitted content (text, photo) must be accurate, owned by you or used with permission, and must not infringe on others' rights (copyright, trademarks, privacy)
- You grant the Platform administrator a non-exclusive, irrevocable, free, worldwide, transferable, and sub-licensable licence to store, display, distribute, and use the content on the Platform, including for improving automated validation models
- Contributions are subject to manual or automated moderation. They may be accepted, rejected, or removed without notice, at the administrator's discretion
- Abusive, false, offensive, illegal, spam, or rule-breaking content is prohibited and may result in shadow ban (reports no longer publicly visible) or account suspension
- Repeated price falsification may result in permanent account suspension and reporting to competent authorities if there are suspicions of market manipulation
Trust score and points system: approved contributions earn points and may increase the user's trust score. At a score ≥ 0.85 + at least 20 approved reports, subsequent contributions are auto-published. The system includes automated anti-abuse filters (geographic proximity, temporal windows, value validation). User rights under GDPR article 22 (human intervention, appeal) are detailed in the Privacy Policy, section 4.
8. Alert Service (Web and Mobile)
Users may voluntarily subscribe to alerts:
- Web email alerts β for selected cities; unsubscribe via the link in each email
- Mobile push alerts β for favourite stations, drops below a configurable threshold; managed from app Settings
- Report status notifications β authenticated users may receive notifications when their own report is approved or rejected

9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies (Web)
The web platform uses cookies and similar technologies for:
- Essential cookies β necessary for Platform operation (theme preferences, cookie consent)
- Analytics cookies β Google Analytics, only with user consent
- Advertising cookies β Google AdSense, only with user consent
The mobile app does not use cookies. Instead, we use advertising identifiers (IDFA / AAID) managed via App Tracking Transparency (iOS) or Consent Mode (Android).
10. Advertising
The Platform displays advertisements via Google AdSense (web) and Google AdMob (mobile) to financially support the service. Advertisements are automatically generated by Google and do not reflect Platform recommendations. We do not assume responsibility for the content of displayed advertisements.
11. Pret Carburant Mobile App (iOS and Android)
We provide native mobile apps published under the name "Pret Carburant" on:
- Apple App Store β for iOS / iPadOS devices (native Swift / SwiftUI version)
- Google Play Store β for Android devices (React Native / Expo version)
These terms apply in full to the use of both apps. The apps provide the same price data as the web platform, plus app-specific features (push alerts, turn-by-turn GPS navigation, price reporting, new station proposals, account sync, extended statistics).
The user is responsible for mobile data / internet costs. Pret Carburant does not cover these costs and does not guarantee operation outside areas with internet coverage.
Pret Carburant does not collect or store on its own servers any Apple ID / Google Play account data used at purchase β all payment interactions go directly through Apple / Google services.
12. In-App Purchases β Premium
By default, the app displays contextual ads via Google AdMob to financially support the service. Users who want an ad-free experience and access to extended statistics can purchase one of the Premium plans, available exclusively through the official stores:
- Monthly subscription β recurring monthly payment, auto-renews until cancelled
- Annual subscription β recurring annual payment, at a discount vs. the monthly plan, auto-renews until cancelled
- Lifetime purchase β one-time payment, no renewal, for the Apple ID / Google Play account used at purchase
Payment method: exclusively via Apple App Store Billing (iOS) or Google Play Billing (Android). Pret Carburant does not directly process card details and does not receive these data from Apple / Google.
Purchase validation: entitlement validation is done locally in the app based on the cryptographic receipt provided by Apple App Store / Google Play. We do not use external subscription processors.
Prices are displayed in the app immediately before purchase confirmation, in the local currency determined by Apple / Google based on the account region. These prices may include taxes and currency conversions applied by the stores.
Auto-renewal (monthly and annual plans):
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each paid period, at the same price, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the expiration date
- Cancellation is done exclusively from the Apple ID account (Settings › [Name] › Subscriptions) or Google Play (Play Store › Menu › Payments and subscriptions › Subscriptions)
- After cancellation, the subscription remains active until the end of the currently paid period
- Deleting the app does NOT automatically cancel the subscription β cancellation must be done from the store account
The lifetime purchase is a one-time payment and does not renew. Premium is tied to the Apple ID / Google Play account used at purchase and can be restored on a new device via the "Restore Purchases" function in the app settings, using the same store account.
13. Right of Withdrawal and Refunds
Under article 16(m) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights (transposed into Romanian law via GEO 34/2014), the 14 calendar-day right of withdrawal does NOT apply to digital content delivered immediately, provided the user has expressly consented to the start of provision and acknowledged the loss of the right of withdrawal.
Upon confirmation of any Premium purchase (monthly, annual, or lifetime), the user expressly accepts that:
- Ad removal and unlocking of Premium features begin immediately after payment is processed by Apple / Google
- They lose the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal because the digital service is executed in full at the moment of activation
Refunds: refund decisions are exclusively at the discretion of Apple (iTunes) and Google Play. Pret Carburant does not process refunds directly and cannot intervene in the refund process of the stores. Official channels:
- iOS (Apple): reportaproblem.apple.com or from iTunes purchase history
- Android (Google): play.google.com/store/account/orders or Play Store › Menu › Purchase history
For technical issues with Premium (purchase not recognized, features unavailable after purchase, etc.), contact contact@pretcarburant.ro β we investigate within a maximum of 24 business hours, but any refund still goes through the stores.
14. Automated Use
The Platform does not currently offer a documented public API. Automated use of the site or private endpoints (automated collection, bots, scraping) without the prior written consent of the administrator is prohibited and may result in access being blocked and legal action. Mobile API v2 endpoints are protected by JWT tokens and per-account / per-IP rate limiting.
15. Changes to Terms and Applicable Law
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. For material changes, authenticated users will be notified by email or in-app at least 7 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after modification constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Romania. Any dispute shall be resolved by the competent courts of Romania. For EU consumers, the imperative rights of national consumer law remain applicable.
For online dispute resolution, the European Commission provides the platform ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
